Andy Austin

Hey! Andy Austin here, and thank you for clicking the bio page! Well, if you’ve listened to the show, you know cycling is how I spend a lot of free time. Maine has some great rides like the Dempsey Challenge (I’ve taken it 9 times and counting) for the Dempsey Center, Trek Across Maine for the American Lung Association, Maine Lighthouse Ride (top 3 lighthouses: Marshall Point Lighthouse, Nubble Point, and of course Fort Williams Park) as well as others. This year, I’m climbing Mt Washington with the Mt Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb. Big yikes on that! Living in Saco, I’m right next to the Eastern Trail which is great for fat biking and cross country skiing.

Racing is also a huge part of my life. After close to 30 years at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, I’ve moved into similar race announcing roles with JDV Productions. This includes events with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, seen on Flo Racing and NBC Sports. In addition to that role, you can find me on the Modified Racing Series throughout New England.

Generally, I stay on the go, but when home I play records…lots of records. While sometimes on TV, I don’t own one and don’t see that changing. I also started Open Trailer Podcast which focuses on racing history and the personalities who created it. Great audio product wins every time.
